CZKW Female Choir 

The CZKW Female Choir was founded as a girls choir in Třinec in 2008, most of its members are former members of the Štývar's Children Choir Třinec. CZKW focuses especially on contemporary and medieval sacred music (gregorian chant and polyphony), also on contemporary Czech choral music and folk song arrangements.

In the past CZKW performed Loutna česká (The Czech Lute) by Adam Michna z Otradovic nine times. Since 2012 CZKW has performed premieres of Jan Nowak's choral works: Missa laetitiae et doloris, Podoby lásky (The Forms of Love) and Utichlé kameny (Muted stones) on poems by Stanislav Havlík, Již se přiblížil čas noční (Night time has already approached), Benedictus Dominus. Two parts of the Missa laetitiae et doloris performance were broadcasted by the Czech Radio Ostrava on Christmas Eve in 2013. CZKW also devotes itself to the works by Václav Štývar (1932-2013) and occasionally performs programmes of his songs. CZKW was awarded silver diplomas at Gaude cantem competition in Bielsko-Biała (Poland, 2015), at choir competition of Music Festival in Námestovo (Slovakia, 2016) and at The Henryk Mikołaj Górecki International Rybnik Choral Autumn Festival (Poland, 2017). The choirmaster is Zuzana Lasotová, the assistant choirmaster is Jan Nowak, PhD.

Zuzana Lasotová graduated from the University of Ostrava, where she had studied choir conducting and music teaching. In her job she deals with children's choral singing. Jan Nowak, PhD. also graduated from the University of Ostrava, he had studied music, English and mathematics.
